PORT AND AIRPORT
Here’s another expense that many will pay too much for.
1.PARK OFF SITE - Its cheaper. Many times its more secure and usually the staff are friendlier.
At the Philadelphia airport economy parking will cost you 11.00 a day plus tax – you can get off site for less than 7.00 a day – this adds up if your on a 7 night cruise you would be parked at the airport for at least 8 days and there is a savings of more than $30.00. I use a site called www.cheapairportparking.com to book my reservation before hand (that way We are assured a spot and we know exactly where we are going.)
If you drive to the cruise port you can also park off site in many instances and save money.
Miami’s port will coast you 20.00 a day and parking off site will save you a little less than half that. We’re talking 70.00 on a 7 night cruise.
2.LOCATE COUPONS FOR OFF SITE PARKING - Many companies offer coupons on-line. Also I signed up for a parking website and received coupons in my email for 2 free nights of parking.
3. Stay the previous night at a parking friendly hotel. -Many hotels near airports and cruise ports offer free parking for up to 7 days just for staying the night before your flight or cruise. Many times they provide a free shuttle to the airport or cruise port. We save quite a bit of money here when we travel with family. We always pick a hotel that has free breakfast too.
